Now it is the time you put your crochet hook aside and decorate your ladybug's wings.

Photo-tutorial how to decorate ladybug's wings.

Ladybug's wings decoration
Cut a long piece of black yarn (circa 40 cm) and the 3 other a little shorter pieces (circa 30 cm.) Put those shorter pieces aside for a while. With the tapestry needle attach the longest piece of yarn on one side of the red circle. (On the right side of the work) drag the yarn to the other side to make a line separating the wings. Secure the yarn with a knot, don't cut it, you will need it to make ladybug's dots.

From underneath, stick a needle in the place where you want to make a dot, drag the yarn to the right side. Tie a knot as close on the surface as you can. Tie it again to make it bigger. You can repeat it again if you wish to make your dots even bigger. Drag the remaining yarn to the left side of the piece. Repeat the whole proces as many times as many dots you want on your ladybug. After last dot tie a knot on the left side of the work and cut the thread.

Take a crochet hook again in your hands, you will be making the bottom part of the body.

R8. Attach the yarn in the stitch from the round 7, ch1 (count as the first stitch), sc in the next 7 stitches, dec, *8 sc, dec* repeat 2 times (27)
R9. sc in the same space as the first ch from the previous round ( count as the first stitch of this round, continue your work in the continuous rounds:), 3 sc, dec, 3 sc, *4sc, dec, 3 sc* repeat 2 times (24)
R10. *2sc, dec* repeat 6 times (18)
R11. *sc, dec* repeat 6 times (12)

It is the good time to put your crochet hook aside and make ladybug's legs. Secure your last stitch if you don't want to loose it while making the legs.

The evolution of the crocheted ladybug;p

Ladybug's legs
Stuff the toy with the filling.

Take one of the 20cm-long black yarn pieces and make a big, tripple knot in the middle of it. Using the tapestry needle attach the yarn from underneath in the place on the side of the ladybug where you want to make first leg (the first knot shouldn't go to the right side of the work). Tie a second knot as close on the surface on the right side as you can, it should secure the leg. Make a third knot at a distance of 1 cm from the second one, and than cut the yarn beyond it. It is the first leg. Take the other part of this yarn piece and make the second leg using it. Than repeat the whole proces with two other yarn pieces.

You can make 2 legs from every single one yarn piece. Your ladybug should have 6 legs.

R12. *dec* repeat 6 times (6), using tapestry needle close the toy and finish off - if you need some tips how to do it see the note below.

HOW TO CLOSE THE CIRCLE
Cut yarn, pull the yarn tail through the last stitch completly antd thread yarn onto tapestry needle. Insert needle through the front loops only of each remaining stitch 9from outside to inside). Pull gently to close the gap.
